TechDaily电子报2018年9月3日吉隆坡讯】马来西亚迎来了第二家互联网交换中心JBIX，为国内企业提供更低营运成本及更快连接网速。
Extreme Broadband有限公司今日宣布正式推介JBIX(Johor Bahru Internet Exchange)，并将成为首家互联网交换中心可接受来自国内外任何互联形式的互联服务。它可让不同业务性质的企业在网内进行交流，例如教育和金融领域、OTT内容供应商、国内及本区域互联网服务商(ISP)、网站托管公司等业者。 所谓的互联网交换中心是协助国内企业的互联网流量在此直接交换传输而无需要绕经海外，从而节省时间和成本。 Extreme Broadband有限公司董事经理，同时也是JBIX互联长(Chief Peering Officer)王荣耀指出：“对等互联(Peering)是互联网流量交换的必需过程，因为它确保流量仍留在国内，从而缩短互联网上数据交换的往返时间。” 他说：“尽管大马已有一家互联网交换中心，但非持牌互联网服务商和企业无法直接在平台上互联，并须仰赖ISP，这是为何我们决定推出JBIX，将开放给任何国家、社交媒体平台的所有业务，包括国内及本区域ISP。” “我们也选择新山作为策略地点，以便大马和新加坡两地的商家可相互直接联网。而南马和新国的流量也将享有更快联网能力。” 已获大马通讯与多媒体委员会（MCMC）互联网服务商执照的Extreme Broadband公司将私人资助JBIX所需设施。 王荣耀披露，目前JBIX免收会员费，而互联伙伴也没有合约限制，任何时候皆可加入或离开。而对等互联端口(Peering port)将有1G、10G和100G网速，其中1G和10G端口分别收费1200令吉及4000令吉。而加入JBIX的商家也可享有首12个月端口免收费。 他说，该收费不仅是本区域最低，同时也较国内另一家互联网交换中心更便宜，后者10G端口收费1万令吉。 目前JBIX已有来自三个国家的12家公司加入其阵容，全马最大网站托管与电子商务方案供应商Exabytes也在其中。- Tech Daily
